Think of adding a Bama 4-bank eliminator chip

Thinking of adding a Bama 4 bank eliminator chip into my 2001 GT I don't know much of it and will do my research but do you guys think this will be a good chip to install and use? Or is there better for around the same price?

Save your money. Get the sf4/x4. From AM. I just received mine a few weeks ago and you will notice a difference in your car. It's much easier to install and much easier to install new tunes. If you want a new tune on the 4 bank eliminator you have to uninstall it and mail it back to bama. The whole process will take at least 2 if not 3 weeks. With the better tuners bama can just e nail you a custom tune and you just plug the tuner into your laptop and install the new tune.

Get a tuner. Even the X3 is fine if you get an unlocked used one. The bank chips are a PITA and sometimes have problems with connections to the ECU. You want to stay away from plugging and re-plugging connectors on the ECU because there is too much chance to bend a pin, static electricity (ESD) etc.

Like the others said, save your money.

Op. The pic you posted from AM is the one I bought. You won't get more or less power gains from this unit over the 4 banc. But the ease of use with more options. For example you can advance or ****** your own timing. And you don't have to pull your factory ecu and literally scrape the protective coating off of the board to plug your 4 bank chip in. The 4 bank would be ok if you trust yourself scraping the coating off of the ecu. And you have zero future plans for upgrades on your car ( aftermarket performance parts/ power adders). Save your money. Buy an x4. Or an unlocked used x3. Diablo sport looks ok as well. I'd buy new over used if you can swing it.

Hey Jay-It's looking like you got some great feedback here from JWorm on this and I would definitely shoot for the Bama X4/SF4 Power Flash Tuner because it's going to be a lot easier to use in the long run. In the event that you're to install parts that would require a revision in the future you would need to physically pull the chip and have it mailed back to us whereas with the tuner you would simply make a new order for a Free Tune and Bama would have it emailed over to you.

It's definitely a lot easier to use as well which has been said. Another cool feature that is that if you're to ever get a check engine light you can use the X4/SF4 Tuner as a diagnostic tool so you're not running down to an Autozone. This can also be used on any car that's OBDII equipped! Let me know if you have any questions at all about this, I've had one on my '01 Bullitt as well as my current '08

Smart move!!!
You can also data log with the tuner should you have any type or engine problems. It really helps when you have sick coils. Been there and it was a lifesaver.
