8000K color lights are much dimmer than factory style 4300K and 5000K lights. And the smoked tint doesn't help either. Do the headlights you bought have stock reflectors, or are they projector-style headlights? If they are relfectors, not all of your light is being focused correctly and is unusable. Here's a video of what I'm talking about: HID Light Splash. And here is an example of an HID projector retrofit: HID Projector Retrofit.

There are several kits out there that allow you to retrofit the projectors into the healdights you currently have. I bought the Morimoto Mini H1 kit from TheRetrofitSource. Still working on getting them installed in a spare set of headlights I have.
