1996 gt wont start

I was driving and it lost all power and it died .i got it to start then the same thing again got it home and tried to start but nothing. Its sounds like the starter does not have enough power to start. It tries to but nothing happens. I replaced the starter, charged the battery and had it tested, but still nothing. When I try to start the car I can hear the starter hitting the flywheel and the lights dim on the inside of the car. I have checked all the fuses and relays and everything was fine. The alternator is new I just put it in last month. I can't find any loose wires either. All the fluids are fine and I have tested the coils, its all fine. I think it might be a P.A.T.S. problem but I do not know. i had a diagnotsic put on it a couple months ago and the only thing that showed up bad was the O2 sensor. If any one has any ideas please let me know.

How does your oil look? Are there pretty little sparkles in it? If your charging and starting system are all good and its definitely in neutral, then my gut tells me there are problems with the engine. Im not trying to freak you out or anything, I am not a mechanic, but my experiences with destroying every internal combustion engine that I have owned make me prone to think that.

Heres what I would do if I were you:

1- Go out and pull the drain plug from the engine right now.

2- If theres nothing abnormal, fill it back up with oil

3- If there is metal flake in it-> push it over near a big tree, buy a few hungry beavers, release them on the tree, Let them eat the trunk, let the tree fall onto and crush the car, collect the insurance money, and buy a new one.

4- In case you don't have access to beavers-> go to your local junkyard and buy a low mileage 4.6 out of a grand marquis that some granny crashed into a minivan and put it in place of your current power plant. Probably can do it under $500 in your garage. Probably under $1,000 if you know a guy who can do it..

Alright. Try to jump start it with another vehicle. If it starts then your battery needs to be replaced

Still nothing huh?
The next thing to do is to test the starter and make sure that it is functional.

Forget it. I see that you probably already replaced a perfectly good starter.

It has to be a wiring issue and I still suspect that there is a bad ground somewhere.

Take belt loose and see if motor turns over May be something like a locked up ac compressor or a pulley
