My parents expidition did this and it was this little rubber elbow that was a pain in the *** to find and get to. Did you use carbon cleaner to check for leaks?

help!!!

The way I check for vacuum leaks is I blow cig smoke into a vacuum line. Taking the air intake off and plugging the throttle body with a rag keeps the smoke from going that direction. If the smoke comes anywhere besides the exhaust you have a leak obviously.

The reason I say this is because I had a vacuum leak on one of those red plastic tubes coming off the plenum that didn't respond to carb cleaner. Might give that a shot.

How does your car do when you accelerate? No power loss?

That's what mine was doing. you use a sct device ? I had to update mine and it fixed the problem.
I think it's the tune. If not. A basic tune up would probably fix the problem weather it's the spark plugs or ignition coils causing a misfire or something.

Yeah. They sell these smoke machines where you plug it into the red wires around the intake manifold. And it shoots smoke through the whole system. Smoke coming out the cold air intake and the egr is common.
