Pros and Cons of Underdrivepullies

I've been looking in to underdrive pullies but people seem to have mixed thoughts about them. Some people say they don't do anything, others say they add a few horses, others say they mess with your car's accessories. Can someone with actual experience with them tell me the true pros and cons of them?

Accessories such as alternator and water pump won't spin as fast and will be less productive. Was told to me to leave off the alternator pulley as it will kill it. Alternator still operated weaker. Ended up changing mine for a higher amp model. I went with the Steeda pulleys (not piggy back ones) and can feel a difference in acceleration. Car operates warmer (water pump less effective) and volts seem to hang lower (alternator less effective).

I used all 3 steeda underdrive pullies and can't say I've notice the car have any affects at all. Did notice it picks up a bit quicker. As for it operating hotter? Can't say I can't tell that one. The alternator seems to be working fine like it always has with no charging issues at all
