gas tank

When I go to the gas station I cant seem to fuel my car. Its as if the filler neck is clogged or something, If I just barely put the tip of the nozzle in I can get the gas to go in but it will still click off every few seconds. Is there anything I can do to fix this without dropping the tank? any easy fixes? is this common?

Are you only going to one gas station or multiple? I've had this happen a few times. What can cause this is the pump for the gas is to strong causing the fuel that is entering the hole to sorta bounce all over the place and trip the sensor to stop the pumping. One thing you can try is to pump at a slower rate then full. About 3/4 of the full blast. I've found a gas station that wouldn't let me full the car unless it was at like half speed before and it took forever....

Ive never heard of a filler neck clogging like that unless some kid or sum1 sabatoged it and shoved something down there and in that case pulling the tank and ramming a rod or something down thru it is the only option unless u can see something in there with a flash light and try using a coat hanger or something to pull it out, try to look down it with a light

There is a vent check valve that may have gone bad. Not ssure if it is an integral part of the tank on ur car, or if u can replace the valve itself. Hunt down a fuel schematic and find out.
Good luck.
