Help noise is driving me crazy!!!

Hey guys I've had a noise lately that is getting worse and worse but with my first baby on the way don't have any extra cash to take it to my mechanic. Was hoping someone here could possibly narrow it down n let me know what I'm looking at. Ok so I have an 02 gt convertible and the noise sounds to me like a metal on metal scraping noise that happens on initial take off. It's def rotational. It seems worse on rainy cold days. Once I get up to 10-15 mph it seems to disappear and once the car is warm won't happen at traffic lights n stops. Sometimes it feels like something binds a bit n then works itself out. It does do it in forward and reverse. If I ride the clutch a bit n rev the car decently high it tends to help to not make the sound on take off...Mayans the sound of the exhaust is just masking the sound idk...Any help, ideas would b really appreciated. Hopefully all of this make sense. Thanks everyone

Help noise is driving me crazy!!!

I don't think this forum allows video uploads. Your best bet is hosting it at YouTube and then providing us the link.

Is it a metal on metal "tick tick tick" by chance? Louder when next to a curb?

Clutch components come to mind. Once you gets that video up we will be able to tell you for sure. The throw outs are a common issue on these rides. Rotational metal scraping sound is exactly how I would describe a bad throw out bearing

I've had almost the identical sound on my 02 GT vert since I bought her almost 3 years ago, ONLY does it when cold, but mine seems to make the noise at around 3kish rpm every time when cold no matter what gear I'm in. When she warms up it compeletly dissapears, its been driving me NUTS lol

yep mine too when its cold. I read somewhere that its "normal" and the happens when bearings are cold. mine definitely does it louder when its cold, and gone by the time its warmed up. if i had to guess, its the throw out bearing.

But what is that ticking noise when im near a curb or another car?

I keep forgetting to check for exhaust leak. Mines clamped in some spots.
