If your doin a 4v swap might as well get the whole motor. What is your plan on the swap?

Just use the intake cams , not the exhuast cams.
You should see 20rwhp with no degree

I see people do this all the time to their 4v. Why not just by better cams? Is it because it's just cheaper to get it from a 98 cobra?

Because they are really cheap and give a half decent power bump.

They also drop low end torque a tad. Most say they think the gains up high are worth it though. I would definitley degree the cams though. IMO, I'd rather upgrade if I'm opening up my heads. Either way though, it's a nice bump.

That's what I'm saying. That much work it seems like I would just go ahead and put aftermarket cams or some sort.

You really don't even need to add any cams, plenty of stock longblock Cobras in the 700+ range although at that point the pistons become a little suspect from everything I've read. And lots of them are KB/Whipple cars so low end is not going to be any sort of concern.

My reasoning is these are 150 for 20 hp or I can spend a 2 grand after all the parts and get a little more than 20

Yea if you are going for numbers then just 96-98 cobra cams and then boost it. If you want more revs then aftermarket cams, but after 7k the Mach 1 intake needs replacing.
