Fuel pump replace/upgrade

So this morning I came off duty and when to start my car to head home and the car won't start. Tried to jump it thinking since it got into the 20's battery may have drained. This wasn't the case car wanted to turn over but seemed like it was getting fuel. So I turned it all off and tried the listen for the prime of the fuel pump and it was dead silent. Did the obvious things looked at the fuses under the hood and I mean I looked at every single one lol I wanted to be sure. Then I thought it was the gravity red button thing in the rear, what ever it's called May have been tripped. Again it was depressed all the way so that wasn't the case. I'm starting to wonder is it really now the fuel pump?

If it is the case after I get done probing around with a volt meter.

What is every one doing to upgrade the fuel pump? I plan on going FI later on and since the fuel pump might be out and I have to replace it, what should I replace it with? I've heard the SVT focus fuel pump? Or should I just go OEM with a Boost A pump while I'm messing with it? Haven't really done to much research on this matter as I was holding off on this for awhile.

Need to get this fixed pronto but I can wait a week if some thing like a high rate or lph fuel pump needs to be ordered.

Thanks in advance

Well if you hold down the trip meter button on the dash for 5 seconds and while holding it turn the ignition on, it will give you different numbers, one of those is your fuel pressure, see if there's fuel pressure. If not could be million things why it doesn't turn over for example such as the camshaft sensor or crankshaft sensor. Something silly like that. Idk just my 2 cents.

One of the reasons you couldn't hear the pump is that it could've already had pressure in the lines.

I did the little digital tack thing and couldn't tell which one was the fuel pressure. And wouldn't a camshaft sensor trip a check engine light?

Yes it would. So I'm assuming you don't have any codes popping up.
Well you could unplug the switch to the fuel pump which is right between the gas tank and the bumper... Hook a meter up to it and see if you get any power. It's easy. Just have to reach up in there and pull the wiring down. That would be the only way to se if the pump is getting power.

If not. Just wait couple hours for the lines to lose it's pressure and turn the key on to see if you hear the priming.

I do not. Wish it did because it would help me pin point what's going on. And that was my next thing to do with a volt meter but now I have to work on getting it towed but that may be a hassle on its own.....

And does any one know what the stock pump pushs out? I've done a little bit of searching seen motorcrafts for 362$ BBK has a 300 lph one for 319$ don't mind BBKs products, not my first choice but...

I got an aviator fuel pump rated 310lph for 50$ from eBay for my nitrous car. 1 year and over 30,000 miles still good!

So you know there's pressure in the fuel lines ... Well another easy way to see if there's fuel in the lines is. Take one of your fuel injectors out and see if fuel comes out of it.

Then you will know it's not a fuel problem and begin diagnosing ignition problems

Pretty sure it's my inertia button it's depressed but I took it out to pop it and it won't and the ball in it isn't moving. So I think it tripped an broke
