Could Use Some Help!

02 GT automatic that has been running like crap lately.

I have:

- changed the plugs
- did the COP rebuild boot/coil kit
- fuel filter
- cleaned the drop in K&N air filter
- cleaned the MAF
- cleaned the throttle body
- replaced the PCV Valve and the hose that connects to it

It's been skipping all over the place in the RPM range and idling rough. I feel ups and downs (like surges almost) of power when I accelerate, mostly at higher RPMs. The skipping is mostly at the lower RPMs. It feels like there is a loss of power over all. Today it was running really bad and finally threw a code which I haven't checked yet. I know checking this code is a good place to start, but I'm thinking it could be a COP? I will post the code once I get it checked after work.

How can you check to see if it is a COP?

Thanks in advance and sorry for the stupid questions haha

First things first if its throwing a code, Check that and get back. A COP could throw a code, it also could not at times...if there is no code thrown and you suspect a COP, than with the car running pull one COP plug at a time, you should hear a change in the sound of your engine/idle, if you pull one and nothing changes, then there it is, plug it back in and pull again to confirm, if no changes than there's your bad COP.

Buy a new cop and replace one and keep moving it until the misfire is fixed. That's what I had to do because it never threw a code
