Cant figure out where this tube goes

When i got the car, it had a c&l intake. In the trunk was the stock tubing, and that small tube in my hand was attatched to the intake tubing. I replacedthe c&l with the stock and now im left with that extra tube, and a piece of pvc connecting the iac line to the intake tube. I drew lines showing whats connected. Any ideas what this small line went to?

I'm not sure, but it's a factory component, so there has to be an answer. My best guess is that may be the same line as the one where the green is drawn on? (maybe the aftermarket one came with that piece?) I just looked at my BBK CAI and it only has two hoses that connect to intake tubing, so maybe an extra piece the other owner found lying around that has nothing to do with the intake? You could also try looking up any the serial number online (if that is a serial number on it.)

Cant figure out where this tube goes

There is a breather tube that goes to both valve cover driver side is easy to spot but intake side valve cover breather is harder to see, might check those.

Bingo. Valve cover breather PCV if I remember correctly. I sold my 98 with a 99 PI motor a few months ago and it was last spring when I did an intake change so I'm not 100%.

to clarify, whats on there already, theres a big tube from the iac, to a resonator(?) to the intake tube.
Theres a shorter tube (possibly the same one thats in my hand) from behind the IAC to the intake side valve cover (PCV)
theres a long plastic tube from the drivers side valve cover breather (not a pcv, or at least, just a fitting, no rattling piece) to the intake tube. This piece is just barely long enough, but i figured thats either because of the throttle body, or a replaced elbow.
The rubber hose for the IAC says Ford on it. But i have a piece of PVC to connect it to the intake tube. I do not know what originally connected the two.

So Im guessing for whatever reason, the previous owner had an extra tube for whatever reason. and is missing a fitting to the intake from the IAC. All i know about it, is it was hanging off of the intake tube sitting in the trunk when i bought it and a c&l intake was in the engine bay.
