I am soo Tired of this idle problem Help please

00 gt ...5 speed...ok first and foremost . Changed IAC twice. checked for any and all vacuum leaks..none. New TPS. good gas. so been having a coming to a stop problem for a long time now and i hate it. But this is what confuses me. Yesterday i came coasting(clutch not pressed just in neutral to a stop and the rpms dropped super fast! all the way to 100 or less...lights came on dash and everything i immediately pressed in clutch and it saved it and the rpms jumped right back up. It has only died completely once and that was because i didnt push in the clutch. ALso if i let it drop to about 1000 rpms then puch in clutch idle will drop smoothly. I am so over this car . I absolutely can not figure it out. any help please i would be great full as this is my daily driver!

Hmm usually I see problems about high idle problems then you'd install a copper cap in the iac tubing with an 7/16th hole drilled in it. You may need to turn your idle screw about an 1/8th of a turn.

I would put the copper plug with a 7/16 hole drilled in it and stick it in the tubing and turn the screw 1/8 of a turn, so the blades open more.

Yeh but do you think that would fix the idle dropping fast as hell and dipping way below 500?

Yes make sure you drill a hole in it first, a 7/16 hole, and make sure you get all metal shavings out before installing.

It sure hell will keep it from hanging, and then I would adjust idle screw 1/8 a turn opening the blade more.

i understand what you are saying i had thought about doing that, but i figured if the rpms dropped faster than they allready do it would still dip below 500 rpms at a light.

---------- Post added at 02:54 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:53 AM ----------

so its probly from hanging, and then dropping so fast from a hang thats causing the dip?

Adjusting the idle screw will keep idle from dropping so low, copper plug helps keep from hanging Rpms.

I understand I had to play with my idle when tuning my car, you'll figure it out. It isn't hard.
