Questionable spring installation

I just had a set of lowering springs installed on my '02. All seemed fine. I was going to do some work under the front end this weekend and discovered that I have two different sized springs on the front end. Apparently they screwed up when installing them. Which should be on the front end, the larger or smaller ones? I have a large on the left front and a small on the right front. I also now have a scraping sound coming from the left front when the wheel rotates. I am taking the car back to the shop today but was just wondering.

Pictures would be great if possible. It sounds like they large one would be the one meant for the rear. Did it come to a tight coil on one end?

Couldn't see the ends. I would think the larger would go in the front due to engine weight. I'll see when I go to the shop. When it's all said and done, It may just have been an illusion as there is more of a noticeable difference in length than I had remembered.

Ok. The left side springs in that picture go in the rear, right side is front

That's what I would have thought. When I looked at mine, the coils on the right front looked thinner, hence the left ones in the photo.

OK, I'm standing here with egg on my face. I took the car back to the shop and the guys couldn't have been nicer. They put it on the lift and gave me every benefit of the doubt. When I got under there, I found that the springs were indeed identical and properly installed. The way the LCA is designed, you can't install them wrong. I'm certainly glad that I have this shop to depend on. The scraping noise that I had heard was simply the backing plate slightly bent and rubbing the rotor. Quick fix and all is well. I did discover that I have a minor oil leak. Not sure if it's from the pan or the rear main. I'll have them fix both when it gets worse. Meanwhile I'll keep my eyes open for a 4V motor. I saw a Lincoln MkVIII for sale. Anyone have experience with swapping out one of them?

Well that's some good news! The 4V swap isn't terrible, I believe we had a write-up on this forum a while back. The biggest difference will be the wiring for the coils are different on a 4V motor
