Fuel Tank Filler Pipe

from what I find online I think I need to replace my Fuel Tank Filler Pipe. I see you can access it through the trunk. is this as simple as a disconnect and reconnect or is there more to it?

What's the problem? Could be a simple gasket that goes between the pipe and gas tank.

It's not as simple as it sounds. I had to replace mine and it was a PITA.

I would change fuel filter easy disconnect, if that doesn't fix the issue, your almost better off upgrading you fuel pump. I bought my aviator 310lph pump for 50 bucks on eBay with the fuel pump filter that snaps in at the bottom which is what you are referring to I believe. It's not hard undo straps that hold gas tank, pull out pipe to gas filler, disconnect the wire harness to fuel pump unbolt 8 bolts pull assembly out of tank, unbolt assembly and pull out your fuel pump with the filter snapped in at bottom of pump.

I think it has to do with the vented tube. When I fuel my car it does not want to go down the tube normally. Have to barely pull the trigger and just barely have the gas gun in the opening for it to go in.

I'm a member of that club.

do our cars have a charcoal cannister? idk if thats just newer cars or what. idk if its part of the filler neck. but I know on my old car its caused by trying to add more gas after the click. it soaks the charcoal cannister and degrades it, and air doesnt flow as well as it should, causing it to overfill at the neck. kind of like pouring used oil into a bottle using a funnel and not lifting the funnel off the bottle while you pour.
