I know everyone wants a big #, trust me I know started early on that

Don't get caught up in power #'s. Thats what it seems like he sold you on.

As long as the motor was put together good, then you have room to do what you want.

Depends. We don't know if it's forged or not based on the info he gave.

Saw you said cobra crank and what pistons he used. What rods did he use? Also ask if he did full ARP hardware. Including main studs

Honestly at this point i wouldn't trust what the guy said. Only real way to know is to tear down the motor and inspect the parts.

No need to be disappointed. He just pulled your leg a little to get you to buy it. But as long as he is being truthful about the other mods you got a solid platform. Does he have any recipts?

Still waiting on more receipts. He did use Arp hardware and all Ford racing gaskets. Can't remember what rods he said.

As for all recipts. Especially ones when the motor was put together. If he says he built it himself. He will still have to get it balanced. And will have a receipt for that.

I wouldn't doubt you being in the 360 range. With your compression where it's at. (From the pistons he said he used ) But only thing there that has me scratching my head is. He said he built the motor for boost. Most of the time you lower compression in a motor build ( for boost ). Unless he had plans to do e85 or race gas. But yet again the fuel system isn't set up for it

Not with a 110 Octane leaded oxygenated race gas.
Not enough injector.

Also if he didn't have a separate tune for the race gas, it would literally do nothing. But destroy your o2 sensors. ( downside to leaded and oxygenated fuels )

He added it with 93 and this past summer he did have to replace the o2 sensors. And he had it tuned where I took my old stang

I remember when he took it to get it tuned and had the 02 sensors replaced. I would think he would have the dyno sheet cause it wasn't that long ago

Either way It's a very Nice car with some quality parts used on the engine build. If you are around 330-340 rwhp then if you added nitrous or a blower in the future you can put up some pretty Nice numbers!! Of course that will entail more money and work but decide what you want to do with it and do it over time. Until then enjoy it, with the power you have now it should be quite a bit of fun. That car looks really really clean, sits nice, nice color, etc.

Yeah, 24lb are stock injector size for Mach's. I would bet that you'd need bigger just to get past 330rwhp. They'll reach full capicity make him run lean. Right?

I guess only thing to do is take it and have it dynod myself. He insists over 400hp. But now I'm doubtful. I guess either way with all the other things done I can get a supercharger and not have to worry about blowing the motor.

MAYBE he was talking 400 to the crank. At which point he is only using that to sell it to you because the only people that rate numbers to the crank are dealers because it is higher than to the wheels; and it gets people to buy them.

We specifically said rwhp. I asked. But at this point I know it's know what he says. So I'm hoping for 350 to wheels. Hoping lol. But either way I know it can handle boost so that's good.

But I'm coming from a hopped up 2011 5.0 and a 427hp. Trans am. And when I bought the car I was told 412rwhp. Only reason I didn't keep saving for another 5.0 is cause I believed it was what he said it was. My bad

I'd make him refund some money if he's guaranteeing the power. Also make sure the dyno is accurate and not some high reading dyno.

Its going to make something like 320/340 at the wheels. There is literally no way it'll be 400. If it does, I'd question the accuracy of the dyno.

If you wanted 400hp you could have just supercharged the stock motor to begin with and saved a bunch of money/time and kept the stock street manners and 24mpg. The stock motor is reliable to around the 400-425 mark with a S trim and a real good tune.

I know but he did all the work. For the most part I watched him work on it through the years. And saw the motor all disassembled. Never thought I'd want to buy it .and he told me it was over 400hp. Way before he decided to sell that's why I believed him so when he said he was selling it , I was like hell yeah I want it

Did you actually see it with the pan off so you could see the crank/rods and all the goodness? Cause anyone can slap a set of TFS heads/cams onto a stock motor and make 320whp.
