Yea you probably take it to strip sometimes too, its personal preference. I rather put top down, heated seats on.

So what about those terminator owners or all those new Shelby's.... Girly? I think not,

Hating on convertibles?

In terms of the classics, most of the convertible variants are worth more than their coupe counterparts, interesting isn't it. An argument could be made that they are rarer too.

I like some verts when done right, and ive seem some nasty fast ones in my day. I do think some can look a little less "manly" but when done right they lose that " femine" aspect. I wont ever have one in michigan as the weather is dumb, but i could see the draw in a different climate.

A Vert in PA is no way worth more than a coupe, "Classic" or not, maybe in FLA or Southern Cali.

They are heavier, slower and leak, wouldn't have one, but that's just me.

My last car was my first convertible and I fell in love with that feeling. The hills of Tennessee are appreciated more with my top down... the car's top.

Yeah, I was being a little sarcastic. I get annoyed with people asking me if the car leaks. I always say "Leaks what?" I know 2 other people with convertibles and none of them leak in the rain. And unless I turn the hose on quite hard, around the windows, I rarely get water in the car while washing. Heck, I've even carefully washed the car with the top down a few times, but only when it was just dusty or covered in pollen.

I have 96 convertible still with the original top and have never had an issue with any leaking. I love my convertible but my next mustang will be a hard top. I feel convertibles are more for cruising and looking nice.

^ I have left my car out in some pretty heavy rain storms and I've never had leaks or from carwashes either.

I'm finding a lot of haters have never experienced a vert either. How can you say you don't like apple pie if you've never tried it before.... lol

Well guess just more verts for us other folks then

Hating on convertibles?

I like Targas and T-tops best of both worlds. Which it's nice in verts top down, you can look up in the sky have some wind to keep you cool. Only thing I don't like is when you have to top down and the sun is blazing on ya, and you have black interior, IT GETS HOT!
Wish I wasn't getting rid of my vert, but gotta get another car.

If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough.

I've had two verts.

1991 Camrao RS v8 auto. manual top sucked but great for northern ohio summers.

2002 Mustang GT. yeah the leather gets hot but nothing better than putting the top down.

Loved it when I had the Camaro just needed to upgrade to a newer car. both car attract females so I cannot hate them for that!

Ronnie, nice old school stang, I like those open floor plans with just the stick there.

They do attract the ladies indeed. But those are the chicks you want to clear from

I had a lapse in judgement and bought a new Convertible Chrysler
La baron 4cyl Turbo Charged back in 1998. (got out run by a V6 Mustang BTW)

Roof leaked "WATER", windshield cracked due to body flex the only good thing was i could turn the radio up so loud i couldn't hear the air rushing by with the windows closed.

Took a beating when a traded it in, That's called a lesson learned.

My first convertible was an '89 Le Baron Premium 4 cylinder turbo I bought back in 1991 with 20k miles. Added a rear spoiler and white letter tires. Had a lot of fun in that car and went on many trips. Sold it with 227k miles in 2003 when a rod finally went. Got more than my share of use out of that car.

We had the modified Maserati variant at the shop earlier this year.

It's a very nice piece and owner stated it's extremely reliable. And rare one of like 1499 (89).
I have a more detailed description of the car in my thread if you guys want to check it out.

I don't want to say it was the same but my car was very similar to the Maserati model it had almost every option, i will say the leather interior was high quality but that's about it.

I'm looking for a picture and will post it if i can find it.

I'm glad someone had a good experience, wasn't a very good car for me.

Bought my first drop-top in 1999, laser red GT convertible, had one ever since. Sold the 99 when I bought the 99 Saleen convertible, still have it, added the grabber blue 2011 Saleen convertible. As long as I can afford to have a 'toy' car, it will be a drop-top. Anyone doesn't like your convertible, tell them it's THEIR problem...
