Intake vs. Cams

I was wondering what would be better to get pullies and intake manifold or cams? I already have the 75mm TB and plenum headers and exhaust

Definitely cams and a dyno tune!
There's no real need to change the intake manifold.

Definitely cams . If you can afford it id also say that it would also be a good time to port the heads as well to gain the most power

Well the cams are going to be a lot more expensive. Because if you want to do it right you will need the cams, cam gears, new valve springs at minimum. And if you need them installed at a shop get ready to pay $500+ just for that. Also need to make sure the rest of your car is up to par. With bigger cams you lose a bit of bottom end so you need different gears, or a higher stall if you are an auto.

But like Straybullitt said, no real need to change the intake manifold.

The PI intake supports 600+ to the wheels, 0 reason to change it unless you are worrying about nitrous puddling.

Cams are going to be about $1500 having a shop do it. You can buy a complete used Vortech in really good shape for that and be +100whp and retain stock gas mileage and street manners if you keep your foot out of it.

Obviously you'll still need to source a fuel pump/injectors but that's not all that much more if you are already at $1500 for an extra 100whp over a cammed 2V.

Tune is required regardless so that's a wash.

An intake won't add enough power, over your current intake setup, to justify the cost. The gain would likely be around 10 hp. You've already fixed the biggest problem with the factory intake which is the plenum.

I heard if you do the intake and cams you can gain around 50-60 hp. I'm in college so was gonna start with intake and pullies then go for cams next year after I save up.

Well just do the pulleys then. The plastic PI intake is really quite good! Unless you are dead-set on getting an aluminum intake, mostly for cosmetic reasons, there is no need to replace the stock intake. Save that money for mods that will net you some real gains!

Does your car have a tune?
Your car has 21 lb injectors which make it run rich at wide open throttle. A tune can really help with that.

I was thinks of a dyno tune but then thought it would be pointless if I have to get one for cams. Should I just get a sct?

I'd get a tuner and a few tunes instead of the intake. Yes you will have to get it re-tuned for the cams but it will make a noticeable difference.

And make sure your tuner will tune for cams if you are thinking of getting them in the future. MPT will, Bama/Steeda will not. Too many ppl find out the hard way that their canned tuner is just that. A canned tuner.

Not as good a job as a SCT Handheld.
