transmission

I have a 2004 GT. It has a manual trans 5 speed. I have 70000 miles on the car and went thought 2 transmissions. I'm not hard on the car. Can anyone tell me what is the best trans for that car. I need something that will hold up.

TR3650 is what he has. Which is a pretty good transmission.

I think the better question to ask is why are you going through that many transmissions?

Yea they do come overfilled. But that's every single 01-04 5 speed from the factory, it hinders shifting but usually hasn't destroyed transmissions.

Also, OP. To what extent were the transmissions damaged or needing replaced?

Or a new clutch and flywheel setup that is properly aligned.

The problem was the oil is foaming. When they put the second trans in the ford com. said to keep it a quart lower. They even put a sticker on the trans saying that. When I got the new trans 5 gear was bad from the start. I went to them twice and they blow me off. They said it was the tires causing the vibration. Two years letter 5 gear went. I knew it would. And it did. I want to get a 6 speed don't like the 5. What's the best trans to get.

Maybe bad mounts so it's not lining up correctly?

You got a bad trans from the start like you said. Shop screwed you. A good 3650 is a real great transmission that will last a long time and shift well. You want the best? Get a Tremec Magnum. For $5k...

I got a rebuilt 3650 for my old 98 for $1060 shipped, installed it and it was awesome right off the bat.
