I went with a 2v from mps auto, and an 8.8, and the 3650 trans, wires, everything as mine also has the sentimental value. Still have my 3.8 autometer 120mph lunar cluster to prove it. Found my old post if it's helpful toy you, but be ready to spend around $4-8k to swap in all those parts (depending on if your doing it youself (wiring is the worst). Good luck and here's that link.

Id take the time to figure the wiring and keep it fuel injected... Better for forced induction for down the line

It's not that it was hard. Most is plug and play, just a PITA to reach a lot of the hard to reach places. (under dash, heater core, etc.) so yea just take your time. Also ensure that if you find a donor car that it is the same body type (mine being a vert must have a GT vert body harness as the body harness they sent me was for a coupe and wasn't long enough with certain connection points. If you find a vert donor and your car is coupe don't pass up on the deal, but just know you will need to source a different body harness.
