Won't turn over

I replaced my head gaskets on my 2002 gt. I was real careful not to turn the crank or move the cam shafts when they were separated. Not that it's all put back together it won't turn over. I heard a loud bang at first. And now there is no turn at all. Any idea on what the problem could be? And how to fix it. Thanks in advance

When you say "Won't turn over" do you mean that the starter doesn't spin the engine? Or does the starter turn but the engine won't start?

It almost sounds like the starter isn't turning. I'm going to get it tested tomorrow and go from there.

After you reassembled the engine, did you spin it by hand through two complete revolutions to be completely sure that you got the cams timed correctly?
If you didn't, I would do that before doing anything else. Just put a socket and breaker bar on the big bolt that holds the crankshaft pulley and balancer onto the crankshaft and try to rotate the engine through two complete revolutions... CAREFULLY! Without forcing it!
It will be easier to spin the engine if you remove all of the spark plugs.

I know some people use a tool that holds the timing chain in place when they have the head off. You didn't do that with one of those and forget about it, did you?

Otherwise I don't know what it could be. Id hate to think you dropped a nut or something down there on accident and now its jammed in the timing chain/crankshaft.

Make sure your starter is all good, and if it is, then you are going to have to go through the heads again because idk of anything that could cause that but be fixed without taking it apart. I hope im wrong, but who knows

The starter is good batter is good. Took the plugs out to try and rotate the crank. And not good. So now I got to pull the valve covers off and the timing chain cover and check the timing. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks for the help.
