96 GT PI Swap Recommendations?

I'm going to be doing a full PI swap on my 96 GT later this winter or early spring. PI heads, either used gone through heads or new FRPP heads. New PI FRPP intake, then either used PI cams or possibly mild cams and of course all new head bolts, gaskets, etc. My biggest question is if I do upgrade to a different cam, what else would I need? I figure valve springs for sure? Also may do 24lb injectors as well, if there are any gains to be had there that is. Just looking for some advice on the cam set up and if It's worth it to upgrade the cams. I will Also be doing a tune afterwards, possibly a MPT or a custom dyno tune locally. Oh Also I know I need the alternator bracket. Anyone know of any complete kits for this swap?

Things done to my car now: throttle body, Plenum, CAI (may put stock back on), March underdrive pulleys, BBK off road X pipe, Magnaflow Magnapack mufflers welded in, Ford Racing 410 rear gear, H&R supersport springs, heavy duty shocks/struts, staggered 17x9-17x10 wheels.

Also Maximum Motorsports CC plates installed. After the swap I will focus a little more on my suspension with sub frame connectors, and maybe LCAs.

theres currently a few head and engine swap threads going on right now, i would read through those and enter that discussion since the ones who are knowledgable are all there.

Thanks buddy. I did read through those. I know what I need exactly. My main question is if I were to upgrade to a stage 1 cam set up, what else will I need?

iirc, whenever you upgrade cams, you wanna replace the lifters and stuff. they break into eachother after some use, and i think someone here ended up with one breaking on him because he didnt change them. it was a 05 to 09 i think.

Thanks for the info. That's what I was thinking. That I would have to get new valve springs, and possibly lifters. Also may have to have the cams degreed so there aren't clearance issues. Most of what I have found on the stage 1 cams say that there isn't clearance issues but some do? Probably easier to just stick with the stock cams and the money I will save I can get new heads by not messing with aftermarket cams. That little bit more hp and idle is tempting though.

Now would be a good time to get some long tube headers.

I was thinking about that also. Get the long tubes and just use the stock cams that come with the heads, but I don't have a budget for it all! Lol.

I've got a buddy who did comp 270's and they sound great. He did upgrade his lifters though, and it was already a PI car. Decent power increase in the mid range, but mostly that sound was what he wanted lol

I'd look for a used set of pi heads, used 270 cams, new lifters, and new guides and chains since you're already in there. Some Lt's would compliment them nicely. Then call it a day. Any job involving cams on 2v is going to be pricey. So I'd save up if need be and do it right the first time (assuming you want cams and pi heads are a non negotiable)

Have you upgraded your fan and radiator to the 97-up style. If not this would be a good starting point prior to the swap.
