Turbo question

Ok guys, somebody offered to trade me a 88mm T3 super t70 turbo for some other parts. Is this a good one? And will it fit my 03 GT?

Bro, you are going to need to do some serious modding to your car before you put that thing in... What parts are you trading for it?

So I'm guessing this is a good turbo? I don't know anything about it. Would it be worth trading and selling the turbo?

That is a bigass turbo, it's commonly used in professional drag racing. This a guarantee, from what you listed if that turbo goes on your car it will blow up your engine and dee story your trans and rear end. Before it goes on your car you'll need:
Forged pistons, crankshaft, rods.
Another intake the plastic one on it will be torn apart with the boost that turbo can make.
The dramatic power increase is too much for your stock trans to handle. Basically, buy it and resell.

Ha! That thing can easily make 20 lbs of boost. Even a 200hp increase will be to much for your stock internals. I'm not trying to rant on your car. I love the sn-95 gts but the 4.6L 2v can only handle 450hp on stock internals and even at that you're pushing it. I mess with turbocharged cars for a living and I can say that a car that had that turbo on it will be making stupid amounts of power, regardless of what it is. In terms of power, For turbos it all comes down to how much fuel can you get in your engine. Basically, big fuel lines, strong fuel pump (maybe two), and big injectors with enhance the performance of a turbo.

If you asked me two days ago I'd take it. Is it new or used? Also what parts are you trading for it?

It's slightly used, comes with turbo and intercooler. Trading a bunch of headlights, taillights, etc.

Honestly man, If I was you I'd get it and (if you are in a populated area) try selling it locally or on eBay. That's a very common turbo used on supras, so maybe try find someone building a one and sell it to them. It won't be for sale long.

Turbo question

Well, where I live, the town is dominated by mustangs. But, the sad part is, I have the nicest one... They're all pretty ghetto v6's. There's only about 2000 people here.

Another place to try is a drag strip or a person building a boosted drag car. But imports would be more interested than domestic most likely. Considering imports usually go turbos when boosting.

Very true. If you were selling, what would you sell it for?

Trade for it if you don't need the parts your trading. Sell it like recon said and buy an on3 Turbo kit for about $2100. It is a 70mm single Turbo kit 5-10lbs of boost. You will need fuel delivery parts, fuel pump, injectors, a couple gauges, etc. But at 5 lbs of boost you will be at 330 whp, and 10 lbs 440 whp (on3 stated numbers). Get a tune at 6-8lb of boost and be safely in the HP numbers of your stock internals. Or use the money to piece together a vortech v1/v2 kit and make over 400 HP at 10lbs of boost, this would be the most economical route if you can find a good used head unit. I would do it though just for the financial reasons. Research online what their selling for used and be realistic on what you think you can turn it for and then make your decision.

Honestly I'd have to see it. I don't know anything about that turbo. You said it was used so that brings a lot of questions that need to be answered before a price can be figured.

From what I'm seeing it looks to be in good shape. Some questions I have are: was the car hammered on a lot? Did the car bounce off the rev limiter often? Is the owner aware of the turbo idle rule? The last question is a must
