New throttle body arrived today..

Well I received my throttle body and plenum today from AM. They are very well made and look great. However I discovered that the throttle body gasket is broken in multiple places. Can I just use some RTV gasket maker to seal it up. Or should I go to Oreilly tomorrow and see what they have?

RTV will work just make sure you go on the inside of the screw holes on the plenum to avoid any leaks.

That's what I thought. I was just making sure. I still need to go to oreillys. So I might see what they have regardless.

I went to oreilly today and got a factory throttle body gasket. It fit perfectly. Install took about 2 hours because I had to go back up to oreilly and get a new tps after I broke it off the old throttle body. Just my luck. After everything was installed I checked it for leaks and then installed my 93P tune from MPT. The car is a whole different animal!!!!! What my old full throttle is my new 1/4 throttle it feels like!!! The car is instantly responsive!!!!

I've always heard and read that the stock plenum and throttle body choked these cars.

I should have gone with a 75mm throttle body though. To match the 75mm C&L plenum.

I wish I would have got the 75mm. But when I called AM they said it would probably cause it to big because it would get too much air. I did a ton of reading before that and read it was a myth. But I didn't want any trouble so I went with the 70mm. But I have the C&L plenum and TB tuned for the car. So I don't know how it would have bogged with the 75mm

70 is good for naturally aspirated. 75, the difference is too meanial to notice any decline in performance, but I guess its good for boost. Idk how big the throttle bodies get for higher amounts of boost tho.
