Opinion on mod

My choice is either Borla ATAK or BBK LT HEADERS. What are your guys opinions? Both were going to be a DIY job, no shop. My main concern is sound, I want it to be louder. I already have a o/r h-pipe and one chamber mufflers. Any opinion would be appreciated!

Borla ataks are one of the loudest mufflers in the industry. But the headers (if long tubes) can provide an increase in HP...

If there's one thing I know it's Popsicles!

You'll need a new mid-pipe for the long tubes and installing them is a very long process so be prepared for a days worth of work. I would personally ally go with the Ataks, but thats just me.

I went with the BBK LT, "Mile High" is correct, if you did not have a LT on your car before, but had a Mid Pipe, then you will need to change that Mid Pipe to a shorter Mid Pipe. I had to do that when I got my LT put on.

I'm prepared to swap the mid-pipe too. How do you like the LT? I know the install is gonna be a ***** but a huge learning experience! Thanks for the responses guys!

I would got for the Borlas just because BBKs long tubes are one of the lower end longtubes. They're a cheap design and wasn't thought out well at all. Way better options then what they have.

MAC longtubes are one of the top notch longtubes that everybody seems to look over and pretty cheap. Longtubes just kinda cleans up the sound. Gets rid of the trumpet sound from stock headers making it a tad bit louder and honestly it made it sound deeper tone.

If it's a daily driven car and you put Chrome headers on you've Basically got around 3 years before they are rusted and the Chrome starts flaking off.

Headers are a pain to install on these cars. Cheap ones don't always fit well and/ or sometimes you'll be chasing leaks.

Bbk modular longtubes suck. Macs fit well but can have corrosion issues. Slp is easily going to be your best bang for the buck and top notch quality. also do you already have a catback?

I'd replace that with a catback of your choice and then look to mod elsewhere as the stock manifolds are actually not restrictive. I mean longtubes do help, but if you don't have a tb/plenum or gears or a shifter or at tune yet... go that route.

Also louder does not equal better. Way too many loud as hell Mustangs out there that can barely break into the 13s.

Not BBK long tubes though. And yes shorties gain little if anything over the stock manifolds.

I've never understood why anyone would want nitrous. Seems very common in the mustang world. To each his own though.

I'd go with the longtubes, probably not bbk. Check into different brands. Some headers won't allow you to drop the trans without pulling them first.

Yeah I did lol. What I get for reading the forums pre-coffee.

People like Nitrous because it just plain works, it is cheap and it is the most efficient of all the power adders.
