Insurance thing

Does someone knows approximately how much costs insurance on a 99-04 gt and is there a major difference with the 99-04 v6 (im 17, no crashes or anything bad) is insurance really necessary ?

Insurance is absolutely necessary. If you get pulled over without insurance you're gonna be looking at a major ticket. As far as rates, that will depend on your provider, driving history, and the type of coverage you're looking for

Forewarning it will be high. Just because of your age; even if you're a great driver. Unfortunately all the idiot teens texting and driving have ruined insurances rates for the good drivers.

For me when I got the car at 18 it was somewhere around 100 with full coverage and one accident. I have a big family so we've got other discounts that helped keep that down.

Insurance thing

Best thing to do is call a few insurance companies and get quotes. I've seen similar threads and I've seen people post anywhere from 25-250 a month. Depends on age, type and year of car, location, type of insurance and insurance company just to name a few variables. It may not make sense but it is what it is. For example a 99 will probable be cheaper then a 04 even though it's the same car.

Insurance thing

I pay $67 a month for full coverage, uninsured motorist, comprehensive, and PIP. But I'm not a teenager by a long shot. And have a clean driving record.
So it'll all depend on you, where you live, state requirements for minimum coverage and what you want covered.

It varies from state to state. Most states require that you at least carry a policy to cover damages to the other driver/owner of property that was damaged if you are at fault (this is a good thing, which is why insurance is required). You would not want to be hit by an uninsured driver on your nice Mustang, would you?

It's best to "let you fingers do the walking", or google "automotive insurance".

For example, Geico offers free quotes on there web site (here's a link where they will provide a free quote):

https://www.geico.com/landingpage/go...FUsuNAod8RsAVQ

Fill out the easy questions, and you can have an idea quickly on how much insurance is going to cost you.

Are you still living at home? Talk to your parents and see if they can add you to their policy; this can lower your cost somewhat.

Some other issues to consider:

Out of pocket expenses: the amount of coverage, described as your deductable, can lower your insurance, but cost you more if you are involved in an accident. If your deductable is $1000.00, then you have to pay the first $1000.00 in repairs for each accident. If your deductable is set at $500.00, then your insurance premiums will be higher, but you have better coverage.

depending on your state again, dont forget about uninsured motorist coverage. out here in florida, i think something rediculous like 20% of drivers dont have insurance (even though the law states you need to pay the minimums for liability damages) and uninsured motorist fills the gap where your insurance covers you, and their insurance covers you if they are at fault. and if they don't have insurance, then your stuck with a busted vehicle.

btw, welcome to the world of adulthood.

I would just call some insurance company and see how much it will cost. Get quotes and pick your choice.

Yes, otherwise you risk having your Mustang impounded, fines, loss of driver license, jail time and even higher insurance rates. Many employers do background checks and you don't want any character disqualifiers on your record. Especially important when going for a city, state or federal government job. Getting caught without insurance is not worth the short & long term consequences.

I think I pay like 115$ a month for liability and I have 23 points on my record. I think at one point it was 90$ before all my tickets. Lol at my regretful teenage years.
