4v engine swap is the way to go. Not just the heads.

You won't need a new trans. It's a pretty simple swap. Google the mark viii swap

Um doing the 4V head swap is gonna be more than just a head swap. You'll need a new timing cover, the wire harness will need to be modified, and you'll need a tune to make it run right. I'd just do a PI swap and call it a day.

^^^thats why I said 4v engine swap.

Pi swap is better than npi but it still isn't gonna produce much hp. It's gonna come down to what you're comfortable doing

Exactly lol

I do love my car. I've owned camaros before I bought the gt. I feel the mustang is a better car overall but damn I miss the power.

I'll probably keep it and get another one as well. I've always wanted to be a car hoarder. I have 3 now. I may try to buy a 99-04 GT this spring with my work bonus. I have always wanted a new edge. They look sexy when done right.

It's fun but not when you have to pay insurance and maintenance, not so much...

New edge is the sexiest of all time IMO. If I had unlimited funds it would be a coyote powered new edge.

And as for the car hoarder thing..I have a 96 gt, 88 camaro(no drivetrain), 98 jeep, and a 97 f150. If I had the money...well I guess I'd be jay Leno.

Me too. One day I will have a large pole barn with 8-10 cars, may not all be running or high dollar but will be ones I like obviously. Poor man's Jay Leno.

Make sure you have some deep pockets 8(+) cars will drain the income quick. Trust me I know... Every check nearly half goes to the cars...

Bro had 69 C10 short bed, 327. He had intentions of restoring it, but never happened. He sold it 4 years ago for $2,400, should've gotten it... What are your plans for the 88 Camaro? Drag car? Is it an IROC Z?

It's just an rs. I had a carbd 350 in it. I was young and dumb, it was over carbd. Backfired and caught fire. Pulled te drivetrain to completely restore, bought a 96 gt in the downtime. Got an offer on the engine and trans so that got sold to fund mustang parts lol

This car is a touchy piece for me. I grew up staring at it. It was the fast car in the neighborhood even before I was able to drive. A friend of mine ended up buying it from the original owner. I bought it from him a few months after with trashed engine. I threw a carbd l98 in with a th350 and 3.73s and dd'd that thing for years.

So what's in you're "garage" ??

I lied about in my garage...
two are in my garage, two are in my carport, one is in my neighbors garage, two are at the shop I work at, and one is with me on vacation.

That's another issue with having a lot of cars you don't have enough damn room at your house for all of them!

Thank you... But they're a b!tch to insure and maintain... Some have issues that we haven't been able to address; been very busy at work (on vacation currently). Here's the Lexus.Click image for larger version

Thanks... They're great, but maintenance and insurance sucks on them...

Another month ends. All targets met. All systems working. All customers satisfied. All staff eagerly enthusiastic. All pigs fed and ready to fly.

I'm a mechanic as well. I was guessing that maybe you owned your own shop. I've been considering other options lately as the money just isn't great where I work.

Dad owns the shop where I work we co own the cars. And that's a very bad idea... Don't go out on your own... At least not now...

Considering other options? I work for the city I live in repairing the fleet they own. This includes diesel trucks and tractors. Diesel mechanics make pretty good money, but I'll never make what I should here.

The upsides are the benefits and my boss is actually a friend. It's hard to leave but like I said..the money is just isn't there.

Ah I gotcha. Yeah my boss actually owns a business on the side which I work with from time to time. It's crazy.

I'm talking sonething different completely. I love working on cars, just not the diesel trucks and tractors. I've been thinking of getting into to something non mechanical for a day job, and tinkering with project cars on the weekend. Mustangs, camaros...whatever.
