PATS help

Okay guys so i had lost the keys to my mustang and i bought a whole when ignition lock cylinder with the keys and today i had taken it in to ford so they can make a chipped key for it but it still does the same thing which is starts for a few seconds and shuts off and the theft light stays on so i have no idea what the problem is can one of you guys help?

Did they program the key to the pats system?

I had that happen before. Get a carburetor. Fixed my problem cheaper than fixing the PATS system! F that computer bull crap

... so a $150+ carb swap is cheaper than a $60 key reprogram?

Yes they did program the key to the car but they said it wasn't staying programed so the car still thinks it is being stolen and i dont know what is wrong with it

If that even is the problem. I would have had to tow my car to the dealer and in my case, we didnt know what the hell was pissing off PATS. So I would have had a $100 tow truck come and then pay probably at least $160 in labor alone for them to monkey with it.

Instead I just got a $100 carb. Problem solved for good.
