Randomly shutting off

Bare with me here guys...

I haven an 02 GT that started to randomly shut off when driving. This started to happen late September. I parked it for a bit through the winter time since I didnt want to deal with it. Well I sent it to a mechanic that just adjusted the iac/tb to have the rpm set at 900 rpm at idle. This fixed the random shutting off issue for about a month.
Then it started to do it again so i bought a new motorcraft IAC and installed that but the issue remained. So i took it back to the mechanic and he has had it for about a week and said he can't find what the issue is with it. So he called someone who specializes in electrical stuff and ''supposedly'' it is an issue with the anti-theft. He re-flashed the anti-theft system and said the car is ready and guarantees the car will not shut down anymore.

The main symptoms of the car would be randomly losing all power while driving (not just when coming to a stop). All the gauges would die and the battery icon would light up along with other icons. Loss of power brakes and steering - More often than not the car would start right back up. The last time it did it the car wouldn't start. It will fire up and then die immediately.

The car does not throw any codes, can this be an issue with the anti-theft? I seriously doubt it but I am not an expert. How about a fuel pump issue?

The car will also get a new head gasket and valve seals done since it shoots white smoke through the exhaust when I have the a/c on and I idle it for a few minutes and take off. He told me that the random shutting off was a whole different problem but it would be a good idea to take care of this issue as well.

Anyone that has been down this road before? I am getting the car in a few minutes to see what's up with it, but taking it back in a couple of weeks for the gasket job.

Intermittent problems can be frustrating.
I also have doubts about the anti-theft being the cause... but who knows? Stranger things have happened.
If the problem persists, I would start looking for a loose or dirty electrical connection somewhere. Give every wiring harness a good shake with the engine running and try to see if you can find a weak connection.
I recall someone posting a thread recently, with similar symptoms, and it turned out that the connection to the PCM had become corroded and he ended up replacing the computer to fix the problem.

I would start by inspecting electrical connection mainly the ground wires. There is a chassis ground fuse block ground and i think the alternator and motor. Anyways i would disconnect them all clean and buff the connection surfaces and see if that helps.

Check alternator. It would cause symptoms with no codes due to a diode going bad or is bad

Another would be the tps sensor.

Well i got it today in the morning and have been driving it all day with no issues. Better yet it drives like a dream and perhaps a placebo effect but it feels it revs faster when crusing around town. All they did was replace the key ignition cylinder and programmed two new keys and reflashed it.

Ill be driving it locally to see if any issues arise.
