Side Exhaust Height

Hey im thinking about either buying or fabricating a side exhaust setup, probably fabricate becuz I think they end up sounding better- but I'm worried about bottoming over speed bumps or other things and ripping them off, which it's a daily so speed bumps are going to happen once in a while. So I'm wondering if I'd have to raise the rear end of the car a bit to compensate for the side exhaust coming down further with the side skirt oh and it's a 2001 GT

Take a look at how the Roush cars with the side exhaust are set up. Another thing you need to worry about is subframes. You can't run most subframes with side exhaust, it won't clear. You have to run spintech subframes or you might be able to get away with global west too. I would not really get a set fabricated... The same company, spintech, makes real nice kits that are direct fit with Roush side skirts. The steeda side exhaust is really nice too.

As far as being too low... They aren't that bad, not the new edge setup anyway.

I have side exit exhaust on my Roush and I'm lower then about 95% of the people on this forum and have no problem. The Kmember is what you'll hit more of then the exhaust. The cat back that Roush uses is a magnaflow muffler. However on some models stage 2 and up they used spintechs mufflers depending on what the owner wanted ordered when they bought the car. If you look at the price tag for Roush's cat back side exhaust its a bit expensive but you get hand crafted tips that make it the expensive part at around 200$ a piece give or take.

If I were you and fabricating a side exhaust. I would get under a roush or at least find a picture of a roush side exhaust system on a car and take note of every detail about it as you can, and see what you can do to make it tuck more under neither the car. Maybe use heat shields and slap it right against the frame?
