MGW if you want the best feel and and an adjustable oosition. Steeda if you don't mind having a non-adjustable shifter and wanna save a few bucks. I plan on going MGW with the next Mustang I get.

I have the mgw in my Mach and the Steeda in my v6 and the mgw is far firmer and more solid feeling the Steeda almost feels like a stock shifter compared to the mgw.

There's nothing wrong with the Steeda but compared to the mgw it's not even close.

I bought my MGW shifter directly from their website. That might be the only place to get it. I've had the Hurst shifter and the MGW. The MGW is much better. Make sure you get the race handle if you go MGW, you will get used to it and be happy with your decision

Like everyone says, MGW is the best. But I'm happy with my SR Performance short shifter from AM. I bought a gasket kit from CobraBob's and vibration and noise is minimal IMO. The only thing I think I'd like as an option would be a little longer shifter arm. I've got short arms LOL.

The tri ax feels like stock? Lol @ whoever said that. You didn't have a tri ax or you have no clue... Tri ax is the best of the "normal" aftermarket shivers but the MGW is superior to them all.

The shifter debate is like PC vs. MAC ... everyone has their preference.

The Steeda Tri Ax is a quality piece made right here in the U.S.A.

The Steeda Tri Ax shifter has gone through many tests and studies and we have determind that the 20% throw is ideal for the driver, the transmission and ultimately for not missing a gear. Our shifter gives you the confidence that when you shift from 2nd to 3rd gear that you will hit the correct gear as opposed to having a gummy feeling and shifting back into 1st , into 5th, or just missing a shift. Our shifter has crossed the finish line in first place more times than the competition and that is something we are proud of.

PM if I can help provide you forum pricing on the Steeda Tri Ax.

This video is from a 2011.... but you will get the idea.

I have the Steeda in my v6 and the mgw in my mach and the Steeda just doesn't feel the same and that's my opinion on it I would take the mgw hands down every time

I installed a Tri Ax shifter in my 04 GT tonight and I have to say it's the best mod I've done to the car yet! Ordered my from late model restoration with their discount code from another Mustang forum. Very happy with it. I was going to go with a mgw but decided to give the Steeda a try. Your promotional video is what sold me and a impressive dealer network. I'll recommend your product to others.

Thank you for the support, Phatspeed!

It is a great piece & like I said previously ... it really comes down to preference. You can't go wrong either way ... except if you don't buy the Tri-Ax, lol.

Let me know if you ever need anything ... we are here to help!

Best Regards,

TJ

Ive got a steeda tri ax in my 02. When i first got the car, it was loud and clunky. After changing the fluid, i put a nice thick bead of rtc under it, and some rtv between the handle and the base. I cut up some "dynomat" like stuff i bought on amazon and lined it under the console and tried to use it to block the space around the top of the transmission. i then removed the rubber boot that was on the stock shifter, and stretched it around the tri ax. (before attatching the handle to the base). then finally the big boot over the whole thing, attach the handle with some rtv like i said earlier, and bam.
now it sounds almost as quiet as stock. the only time ive ever had a problem shifting was when i derp up or get distracted. otherwise, it shifts nicely, feels nice and strong, and no longer too loud. i wish i took pictures of the process, but its a pretty easy concept to figure out.

The Steeda definitely is good for slamming gears. If you are not concerned about NVH and don't have shifter reach issues it shifts as well as the MGW. Although I modified the Steeda TKO shifter arm relocation plate to work with the 5/45/3650 shifter... Like... If you miss 3rd with the Tri-Ax installed you're an idiot haha.

That said, the MGW is going to shift just as well and is a better piece as far as NVH and what you get and options.

Cruised around in my Mustang after work getting more of a feel for the Steeda. Haven't had any missed shifts so far. Love how solid it feels too.
