Bad pcv valve, cheap easy fix... I had the same problem, replace the pcv along with the hose, its cheap enough...I initially just changed my PCV valve and than upon closer inspection after I swapped it I noticed when giving throttle the line would collapse from being old and worn..save the time and just order both

Isnt that side (drivers) just a straight through piece? Last time I popped it off there was no rattling piece inside, just a straight thru hollow pipe. My passenger side has a rattling type pcv valve (functional). Does my car have the wrong piece? Do they have a pcv valve on both sides?

The PCV valve is on the passenger side. There is only a tube on the driver side.

My PCV valve was impossible to remove from the tube. It turned out the hose was split. So, check the hoses on both sides. You may have a split in that hose and oil drips on that area.
