Raxiom Icon Tail Light Review

Alright guys, i had the privilege of testing out the brand new Raxiom Tail Lights for the 1999-2004 Mustangs early for American Muscle. They are the ones designed to look like the 2013/2014 tail lights. Here is an overview of them.

They fit just like OEM so that is great, and just like the 2013/2014 they have that dark look to them, but they are not smoked so they are in fact legal and still look great if you have that blacked out look like I do, so if you are always looking over your shoulder like i am to see if a police officer might ticket you for them, don't be worried anymore.

The light output from them is amazing, especially since i came from tinted tail lights to these, its a completely different experience when the lights are on. One thing many people might gripe about is the fact that just like the 2005-2009 versions you can indeed see the LEDs, i don't particularly mind it since its not like i will ever see my tail lights when they are lit.

The brake lights re-use the bulbs you used from your stock tail lights, so those are not actually LED unless you have done the conversion. No biggie they still illuminate very well.

They also not not come included with built in sequential turn signals, but they do work with any of the other raxiom sequential kits. I already had the plug and play version so it would not have mattered to me anyway.

Overall I like them, they don't give that OEM feel like you will get with the real 2013/2014 ones, but they are still pretty kick-*** in my opinion, definitely worth the upgrade.

If anyone follows me on instagram you should have already seen most of these pics by now.

Here is a walk around video:

Those look great! The only thing that bugs me is that they're all just red. I think if you tinted the "wells" a little bit then they would look awesome

Edit: it may just be the angle that the pictures were taken that makes me think that. Upon further inspection it looks like they are in fact black and not red like I was thinking.

They out shine by A LOT. Especially since I had tinted lights before this. It's crazy bright.

The actual tail lights are LED. That's when the lights are on. It's the brake lights that are still normal bulbs. They are still plenty bright IMO

I honestly don't like them... I mean they look like they function fine and all... just don't like the look of them when they are off and I am one of those ppl who thinks that Raxiom did a **** job with the visible LEDs vs the factory 13/14s.

99-04 Raxiom Icon Tail Lights!!

They aren't for everyone. But most like them. My Instagram and Facebook blew up when I posted pictures. Went from about 520 followers on Instagram to 760 in 2 days.

And I don't really mind the dotted LEDs.

Not my cup of tea either. I see where some may like them and they look good, just not for me. It's very cool that you get to test them out and very smart for American muscle to create some buzz about them this way!

I honestly think Ford absolutely nailed the New Edge down to even a nice set of optional rims, smoked OEM headlights and the OEM tails look damn good already. Everyone is obsessed with the 13/14 lights for some reason.

One of the great things about the NE is it already looks so good from the factory and owners need to do like... 2 or 3 pretty cheap things and a suspension drop to make the car look badass.

^This is my opinion too in a nutshell. TBH, peeps change the 05-09 tails too, and I like those as OEM.

What I'd like to see is Raxiom make headlights that resemble OEM, but are designed to handle HID's properly and legally.

I know you mean but give it some time and they'll grow on you. It's difficult to get an idea of how they look without getting your hands on them in person!

Give them some time Steve, they might grow on you. I had my hands on them a long time ago and wasn't sold until I saw them on the car...and once I saw them on the car I started looking for another 99-04!

This or they are a 99/01 Cobra tail light fanboy. Not saying there is anything wrong with those, just not my style.

Well it's definitely looking like they're getting a little of positive and negative feedback - We saw the same thing happen with the Gen 5's but wait until some of the naysayers see the Icon Tailights in person!

If anyone has any questions on them don't hesitate to let me know and I'm here to help!
