1999 GT oil blow by

I have developed a lot of oil blow by on my 4.6L but it's not smoking from the exhaust. I have an oil catch can setup for my ProCharger. I'm loosing about 1/2 a Qt oil every 80 miles.

Since there is no smoke from the exhaust would it most likely be an intake valve?

blow by is when your combustion blows pressure past the piston rings into the engine's crank case. That would mean your piston rings/cylinder wall are worn out. That means oil is coming up from your crankcase and getting into the combustion chamber.

Check the supercharger pipe leading into your intake for signs of oil also.

Not seeing smoke from your tailpipe doesn't mean a whole heck of a lot

There's oil in the ProCharger tube, it's actually dripping out on the ground from the air filter.

Ehh, its not too bad. YOu have a supercharged mustang haha it could be worse!!

Plus, a re bulid on a procharger is just maintainence basically. Its not "if" its "when" you rebuild it.

Good point my good man! Way to put a positive spin on it, now I just have to get my wife to think the same way.

Shouldn't cost too much to get the parts for it I bet. Just DIY.

Youtube that **** and crack some brewskies. Wrenching is fun!

Set up some kinda system with the wife to make it sound like you're still being smart with ur money. Tell her every $1 you spend on cars means $1.5 goes into some sort of savings/college for kid/retirement/ health savings account. Everybody wins!
