Pypes Exhaust

I've got a 2000 gt and am needing to replace the exhaust, but don't have much of a budget. I need everything from the mid pipe back. (Apparently the dude that had the car before me ran over something and put a pretty good ding in the h pipe. The rest is just getting rusty.) was looking at some Pypes "Pype Bomb" cat-backs, but was also thinking an off-road h pipe to get rid of the cats altogether. Pypes sells one of those too. Anybody been around this setup or know if would even work? I've not done much exhaust work and the terminology is all new to me.

Pypes had a ton of fit/finish issues for a long time that seem to have been sorted but they are on the lower end of the quality scale. If I was on a real tight budget I'd just get the BBK mid pipe and a basic Summit Racing catback.

My violators fit terribly. Lot harder to get a catback to line up as is

Get a UPR off road x or h pipe. Then get a Nice set of either flowmasters, loudmouths, magnapacks, or Whatever you want. Have an exhaust Shop install the mid pipe, run the cat back with their Shop pipe (aluminized pipe), and weld in the mufflers and reuse your stock tips (assuming those are OK still they usually are). Should be cheaper than buying a mid pipe and cat back. At least it was when I priced out doing that previously.

Might not give you as much "hp" as a cat back but as long as they run the new pipe like the stock ones were it will be fine. And the off road pipe and high flow mufflers will open it up to breath better anyway and sound great.

Just thought I'd share my exhaust experiance. I'm running stock headers into 2 1/2" X-pypes, 2 1/2" Pypes muffs and tail pipes. Luckily I found a small section of 2 1/4" pipe (bought it like that) and I finally replaced that section with 2 1/2". It made a noticeable difference. Have fun with the rumble!!))

One more thing (not sure if anyone mentioned this already) there's a difference between X-pypes for manual or Auto trans. Manual is wider. I found out $$$'s @ the exhaust shop. (Wish I got the right width from the giddy-up) Ughhh...
