New paint job

I apologize in advance for posting so much, I always have questions. 😁

I currently have a gloss black paint job and have decided to go with a pearly white (a lot of work, I know) but my question is, I thought about buying some of those flakes in a container to add to the paint (just something a little different). Has anyone used them to know how well they work?? Someone told me they've never used them but they worried they'd start to settle to the bottom of the paint while spraying therefor the flakes wouldn't be evenly spread and be heavier in certain areas, your opinions?? Thanks guys

Pearl is hard to get right. Big flake sucks even worse to paint. Yes it settles to the bottom. You need a big hole and needle for the paint gun to handle the flake and then you have to worry about lying down too much paint and it running. Overall if it's your first time painting with pearl and flake your gonna have a bad time. Not saying you can't do it. But there is a lot to consider and it doesn't flow like regular paint does.

Flakes settle like you said. Make sure you have the right tips for the paint gun. Do a lot of test pieces. I know many people prefer to put the flake in the clear coat. Then clear over it without flake. Clear coat is thicker and easier to control the flake distribution. But do a lot of research and testing.
