09GT Borla mufflers modified to fit 99GT?

Hey everyone I got a question my cousin whose a mechanic removed his borlar exhaust from his 09 GT and said that he could install them on my 99 GT.

Do you think the modification is worth it, or should I just go and get a new set that's made for my car. He said all he'd have to do is replace the hangers.

What are your thoughts

If your cousin is a mechanic and has access to a welder, anything can be done. otherwise, you may just be cutting and clamping, maybe using a few exaust adapter pieces to match the sizes. worst case, you need to weld on a piece for the exaust hanger. otherwise you can find a way to hook it to the car with the exhaust straps they sell at the auto parts stores.

The piping is a larger diameter than the stock exhaust piping. You could probably cut the Borla mufflers on either side and weld them in place with pieces that will adapt. Just make sure that the shop keeps the exhaust modular and doesn't weld the midpipe directly to the Borla mufflers. This will make it easier to upgrade down the road.
