Yet another 3.73 or 4.10 thread:p

So I'm thinking about gears and a Bama tuner but the question is 3.73s or 4.10s. What are the pros and cons of the two. I enjoy going fast and don't wanna lost to must speed but more acceleration and breaking the tires free more often would be nice. What do you guys think??

Tire size - 245/45/17 Transmission I have no clue. But I could prolly check alldata if that would help. And goals, maybe taking it to the drag strip once in a while. But I don't want to lose to much top end

Talking about street racing is not allowed on the forum as it is highly illegal and dangerous.

When he asks about trans... are you manual or auto. And either way get the 4.10s. The auto needs 4.10s and if you are a stick you have an 04 so you have the deep .62 overdrive and will do fine on the highway.

Google "RPM calculator" and input your tire size, final OD and desired gear ratio and see what you'll be turning on the highway. Stock tire size is 25.7", overdrive for the 02-04 manuals is .62 and .70 for the auto.

You have an 04 Auto which means you got the beefy auto too. 04 was the only year it got the 4R75w which is a really REALLY good transmission.

4.10s, J-mod, tune bolt ons, suspension and gears. Suspension is real important because no matter what you do, if you are on stock suspension your car will only be good for highway pulls and being an auto... not going to want to engage in a lot of highway pulls lol.

Hey Dalton - What's your commute like? On an auto if I had to do this all over again I would shoot for the Bama X4 Tuner and a set of 3.73's as they're not going to kill your fuel consumption. Let me know if you have any other questions or feel free to shoot me a PM, I'm always around to help out.
