EGR delete

Anyone done an egr delete on their gt's? Is it something that can be done in the driveway or is it just better to take it somewhere to be done?

I'm looking at doing it, I got a EGR delete kit off eBay that has the block off plate for the egr valve and for the tube that goes to the manifold.. From what I've been told the tube on the manifold is a ***** to get to but it can be done in a driveway... I'm just waiting to tackle it until I get my longtubes installed that way I can weld the hole shut on the headers.. But it's pretty simple, do a search on the thread or someone could post pics of everything that needs to be disconnected and plugged...

Ive got a kit also and i have a cap that will thread into the nipple on my manifold. Shop said they would charge me $120 to do it themselves.

Unbolt it from the manifold, cap the port on the manifold and install a UPR blockoff plate or an ebay one is fine too. Then turn off all EGR functions in the computer. It has zero performance gain though and is only really cosmetic to clean up the engine bay.

Just because I give you advice, doesn't mean I know more than you. Its just means I've done more stupid ****.

I only deleted mine because it is just more unnecessary **** inside the engine bay. I made my own delete plate out of aluminum flat stock and screwed a bolt into the exhaust hole.
