99 mustang brakes

So my buddy (not very mechanically inclined) tried to change his brakes and only bled the front 2, but when he bled them he did it by himself and didn't close the valve when he let off his brakes so when everything was said and done he had no brakes. Well he coasted over to my house and I helped him remove the air from the lines and now the brakes work BUT the are working to good, they seem to be locked up and now they get to smoking after about 5 minutes of driving. What do you guys think? Lol and I'm not super mechanical but I just changed my brakes on my gt a few days before so I figured it would be an easy fix

Someone will need to carefully inspect all of the work that your buddy did on his brakes.

He took it to a shop and they are wanting to charge him like 260 to replace the rotors and brake lines. He's only drove it maybe 30 miles between driving to my house, home, and shop

how messed up are the rotors? If the rotors are ****ed up, why arent they also replacing the brake pads?? Putting old pads on brand new rotors is like stepping out of the shower and cleaning your butt crack with used toilet paper. and for $260? I would never pay that much for pretty much anything on my car, except replacement engine or tranny. But, hell. Sounds like you guys need help badly. And at least now if gets ****ed up again its warrantied work and parts. I say just wash your hands of it and be happy all its costing is $260

You don't want to have him slam his car into a school bus, and then have the courts find out you were the last person that touched his brakes...
