yeah probably , lesson learned somzthing is weird when you gain 37 hp from a ten feet long modlist. But thats not so bad its still a 300 hp car that is a blast to drive. I'll try to talk to the ex-owner but I don't think I can do something now.

How about making it a legit stage 5 car? If you plan on keeping it that would be cool thing to do, just loping to the point of nearly stalling out...

When people lie about how much horsepower their cars have to sell it<<< that's why I just buy my cars stock and put my parts I have on it myself so I actually know what's done to the car. Nice car though! 👍 put a 100 shot nitrous on it! 😎

Regardless of actual power, its still a super nice first car and makes more power than my first two cars put together.

True! We should have a thread "what was your first car" Maybe there already is?

I also agree that regardless of the mods or power it makes it's still a clean GT. I think you did alright price wise for the miles and condition (based off pics). Also that color is one of the best on the new edges.

I will say though that if the car is making 297 then the previous owner spent a ton of money that you won't have to now lol.

I'd like to correct a comment about me from like... page 2. I never say automatics are better than sticks for any one specific individual, it's really personal preference for the street. What I do say is that when someone says "sticks are faster at the 1/4 mile", that's when you call bs.

Op got the car for a fair price. No way in hell it is making that power though and that leads to the questions... What else is the guy lying about and do you really think someone who goes by paper hp numbers is a person you would trust not to be an idiot with the car?

That statement is true some of the time, but I understand what where you're coming from. Just that's not always the case...

I had a 76 Cutlass. I loved that car. It was owned by a teacher. I had it painted and put air shocks in the back and 275's on 15x7" wheels lol. I had some rake going.

Yes, I saved all my money from 5 to 16 and put into savings/invested and now I've got some stock, my states age requirement is 18, doing really well with the stock. I used the money wisely and I've got some nice cars and making great money for someone my age...

Truth be told, I wasn't looking at my impala, when I bought it. I was looking at a 67 cutlass with a 455, then the guy and my dad started talking and the impala came up. Went home that day made a few calls, got the money from my bank, went back the next day and bought it, then restored most of it, the rest is history...
Great car by the way...

I thought I'll give you guys an update about the car, so Ot doesn't have cams the ex-owner gave me a box full of bills but half of them were parts that he sold. So its as the exhaust setup that I said above, 3.73 gears, eivach lowering springs, and eibach sway bars. I learned the lesson.

Well with a less restricted exhaust system, you'll at least gain some HP...

When dude said "stage 5 cams" I would have laughed at him and asked where the flux capacitor was. But that is a live and learn lesson. If its a clean New Edge... well those aren't super common anymore so there is always that.
