Your opinion?

Friday I'm going to order some new wheels, amr's Glossy black.
Rear-18x10
Front-18x8(9?)
Has anyone on here ran these wheels before? I've heard mostly good but also some bad. Also what kind of tire would you guys recommend, I would prefer a street radial.

They look sexy I wish they had 17s.

They look good when lowered I believe I've seen 1 or 2 in my area with them

Yeah my cars already lowered, I have about a 2-2.5 inch gap between my tires and fender.

BFG Comp 2s were good and not too much $$$ at the time I got them from tirerack. Mickey Thompson Street Comps are also badass but more $$$.

18x9 works well up front on the New Edge. With the BFGs (that run big) you can do 255/40/18 up front and 275/40/18 out back for a little fatter of a sidewall (and lower cruise RPM on the highway with 4.10s) at 26.5" and the front will be stock tire height at 26". If you have a 2-2.5" gap that will be fine.

If you did decide on getting an 18x8 up front you can do a 235/45/18 up front with those BFGs and it fits perfect. I ran that exact tire combo on my 98 actually, 235/45/18 up front and 275/40/18 out back on 18x8/18x10 rims. The 94-98 cars don't have quite as much fender as the 99-04s do so a 9" wide rim sticks out past the fender a little.

Sweet I'll look into the bfg's. And yeah I'm not set with the fronts yet, I either want 18x8's-9's not sure if it makes a difference really, but I like the staggered look so I thought 18x8's would just make the 18x10's pop out more.

It looks more like a big/little setup with the 18x8s up front that is for sure but for the New Edge they'll be sunk in as much as the stock ones are which is what some ppl like honestly. The 18x9s will be more "flush" with the fender.

Here is a shot of my old 98 with the BFGs in the sizes I mentioned. 18x8/18x10 with 235/45/18 and 275/40/18. 26.3" tall up front and 26.6" tall out back. Car was lowered 1.5" all around but with the bigger tires I got a little bit back as far as ground clearance. Never any rubbing issues up front.

edit: Damn I should not have sold that car... actually I needed to and I can make another just like it that's actually "mine" but still...

Damn, I usually don't like that body style but that looks really good. And I like the tire set up, how mean does it look from behind? Do they stick out at all?

The 94-98 body style is really underrated and under appreciated. It does look bleh in stock form but with a Cobra front, lowered, replace/delete the wing and a good polish and some wheels and that's what you see there.

And some interior whoreage because I can... or could...

Car was originally a two tone black/grey interior with a dirty carpet and a lot of just... dinge everywhere. Found a full black interior out of a 95 V6 parts car, reupholstered the seats myself, installed new aftermarket carpet and a few other stock/NOS pieces here and there.

Like I said, these cars can look GREAT, you just have to know wtf you are doing. 94-98 black interior looks better x100000000000 than any other one including the charcoal (purple) 99-04 interiors.

Well I'll hand it to you the cleanest 94-98 body style I have ever seen. Props to you!
