Exhaust dumps before axle

My tail pipe broke off at the muffler. No big deal as I already have flowmaster super 10s ready to get installed in a couple of weeks. My real question is can I have dumps put on before the rear axle and have the lowering springs installed later in the summer and not run into issues with the dumps hitting on my 02 gt?

You could run dumped before the rear axle but it's going to be loud. Might get to be too much after awhile. I decided to keep full tailpipes on my GT. Best decision ever!

Exhaust dumps before axle

This car is the loudest car I've heard in my life, it's as loud if not louder than drag cars. He's got it dumped out in front of the rear wheels. After driving it, because of possible purchase, all the sound is behind you and not loud at all inside...

But if you plan on lowering it you can run into some issues...

I've got mine dumped before the rear axle. LT's, o/r x pipe and Borla stingers. It gets loud as hell, but like recon said the noise is behind you. If you don't have a problem with NVH, then dumping it shouldn't be a problem. As for scraping goes, usually the mufflers are recessed a bit and if the turn downs are pointed at an angle instead of straight down you shouldn't have issues.

Thanks for the info. Hey Rogue are there any performance issues with the dumps like spitting and sputtering. I know some vehicles need a certain length of pipe to run correctly. Kinda a dumb question but this is my first stang. This is what I sold to get my stang...

Naw, as long as the tunes good, you shouldn't have any issues with it spitting and sputtering. There's 2 sets of o2 sensors that go along way in making it adjust the timing and fuel.
