Quarter mile times and opinions.

Alright, I'm sure this topic is on here somewhere but I couldn't find it.

On a grand scale of things, what's your thought on a good quarter mile time for street legal cars? I've always thought 13s were quick, 12s fast, 11s very fast, and anything below is considered a true race car.(or cost around a million dollars) I ask because I'm in a small town, and I know I can get low 13s possibly even 12s pretty easily in my 2001 GT, but I don't want to go to the strip and be blown away by some beat down little civic with a ****ty turbo on it.

My buddies turbo'd cobra runs 11's and its street legal. Can't remember the exact number. He just turned up his boost he went from 18 to 23 also. And I know a wrx he ran low 11's he holds the world record for lowest pass on stock internals. He's planning on going next week to try and hit a high 10, he's prepared to blow the motor haha.

That's pretty sweet. God I would kill to own a cobra, but my wallet just isn't heavy enough yet. And just to say lol it wasn't more a of a question of street legal or not, I'm just thinking about heading to the track and I have high hopes at getting a few good passes in. But I want to make sure my definition of "good" isn't completely under shot (good being 13s to 12s)

I'm not sure on the pass us 2v's make stock but I know my buddy with his cobra (4v) has dropped alllloooottt of money. His used to be a 2v but got his hands on a cobra motor. I'm sticking with my 2v just so I can be kind of unique. I'd like to run against him or beside him next summer. But I know my chances of that are very slim haha. But that's not stopping me.

Cars are getting faster and faster. In the 80's a 15 Second car was fast. In the early 90's 14's were fast. Today you can buy a honda accord v6 and run a high 13 @ 100+ mph completely stock.

My opinion is that a 14 second car is slow, a 13 second car is meh, a 12 second car is decent, an 11 second car is quick and 10's or better is fast.

That said, my 2014 mustang v6 is the slowest car I've owned since since 2005 and it ran a 13.6 @ 105.2. My opinion is probably skewed a bit on fast vs slow.
