All motor or blower?? Opinions and experience please

Have a 2002 get automatic was going turbo but have decided against it looking at stage 3 twisted wedge stage three cams long tubes and intake or a vortech blower. Any one done the top end set up if so what kinda power did you get

Pointless to stay all motor on a 2v. Unless you plan on building the bottom end and spraying it.

I wanted to do all motor. Then I added up everything I needed to make good HP and Tq. It's cheaper to bolt on a blower with low boost and call it a day.

With a Kenne Bell and 6-8 psi you'll get 350+ out of it without touching anything else on the motor. Go much higher than that and you're at the max safe HP and Tq range for the stock bottom end.

That's still a deal breaker. 350 is depressing after a blower.

Build the bottom end. Do the heads and cams. 200 shot and be done

It'll cost you more to build the bottom end and do the heads and cams and do it right. And if you spray it and all the supporting equipment you'll be in it even more.

I know never said anything about cost. I would go in reverse and still give the 2v a head start with a kenne bell and 350hp
That is depressing

Not talking about that either.

Just the fact that after you buy the kenne bell, get it tuned etc and if you end up with 350 it just wouldn't be worth it imo.

I would rather have a cammed 2v with a little spray.

I love the 2'vs the 99-04's best looking body style mustang to date.
Cammed and at least a 100 shot would make for a nasty DD treet car

All motor or blower?? Opinions and experience please

Im in a vortech setup pushing 376rwhp and its a nice powerband and you just got to love the feeling of boost its hard to not like it... And total with tune im in it for 2250... Try getting some cams and spray for that price tag i dare u..... And thats with buying everything pertaining to the blower new from superchargers.com... Got the maf and injectors new from ebay.. The blower itself is a v2 s trim wiff upgrade and was freshly rebuilt before i got it ( and u could tell ) ... So its easy to say my vote is boost... Now im prolly gonna top out at 700 hp or alil less with this upgraded blower but i got alot of forging to do before i even think of those power levels.... If u like turbo a nice on3 kit would be for u and with a twin turbo foward facing kit u can always just get better turbos and go more boost theres ppl making big power with there kits but its alil more expensive, if all u want is 300-310hp then stay n.a and cam it but u can get soo much more with boost

Have you priced what a coyote swap is??? 6500 for the motor with harness computer tune and install 10k+ if I buy the heads and cams I want now start on a bottom end for down the road that's one expense I don't have later was my thought. And a Kenny bell set up 5 grand to the door that's crazy to me

You can get brand new coyotes for about 1,400 -1,800 less than 6500

That's what I'm thinking on that red convertible I keep looking at. PI swap, cams, making about 300whp NA already as it sits. 125-150 shot, change out the gears to 4.10s or 4.30s and some sticky tires and surprise the **** out of a lot of ppl.

Nitrous is artificial or "pretend boost"...therefore, boost is still king.

If I was going to build a dedicated 1/4 car... not sure I'd do anything but nitrous. Lighter, no heat soak, power is instantaneous, cools down your air charge etc... But I'm just talking from very limited IRL experience and defer to the guys who actually run the big shots at the track.

I was thinking about getting a 75 shot on my 2v. It would be to make getting on the highway a bit more fun. I don't think the better half would let me get a Kenne Bell.

Are there any active light, non racing nitrous threads? I have not been able to find one.

Unless you build your suspension to handle a large nitrous hit stick to a non roots blower or turbo for drag racing. Nitrous is a fun thing in small doses but when u get up past 150 into the 2 stage 250+ shots its all or nothing and without a professional setup youll just blow the tires off

Plus the cost about 60 bucks for a nitrous fill on a 10lb bottle and u get 10 12sec passes MAX with a 150 shot
