So now I'm going back and forth on getting blower cams or not. $1100 or so for the CMS cams, degree service, springs and TFS gear. That would buy me the rims/tires I need or completely finish the car up otherwise.

Blower cams on the stock motor=safer HP... but I know I could also safely hit the 400+ mark with the stockers.

That is a tough one cause now would obviously be the right time to do it with the engine out. But like you said if the $1100 gets you closer to the end then maybe its better to spend on other necessary things. But again you may kick yourself later on because you wish you had done it then. With your know how and mechanical ability though, you could change the cams down the road over a weekend or 2 if you really wanted to. If it was me and the $1100 would mean I could get it on the road sooner or more realistic finacially speaking I would probably do the wheels and tires and get her going.

I know you dont NEED the wheels and tires though, well maybe the tires if they have flat spots or are dry rotting. So maybe cams now make more sense cause its easier to change the wheels and tires later on or even find a good deal? See this is why I can never make decisions for myself, I cant even give advice to how someone else spends their money, lol.

I think that you should just use the stock cams and put that baby together!
As you mentioned, the stock engine will only support X amount of horsepower anyways...If you ever build an engine, that will be another good opportunity to do the cams then.

Sooo... Make a big pot of coffee. If you get started right now, you should be able to have it running by Sunday night!

Well the wife may have made the decision for me. This weekend... holy ****ing ****... $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Anyway I'm most likely going to leave the stockers in, run 10lbs of boost post intercooler and see what she makes. Probably right around the 400 mark.

And Steve, yes it needs tires. Rims are torn up too. So $1100 will go to an AM staggered 17" setup with Mickey Thompson 315 street comps out back.

Once I get it running and dialed in I'll sit down and hash out what I want to do with it. If I want to keep it as is and just enjoy it as a fast daily or what. I have a feeling I'm going to wind up looking for another aluminum block to start something on the side but who knows. Just want to get it running...

That stinks about the $$$$$, hope all is well though. Look at it as something that helped make the decision for you, if you can.

That wheel/tire with Mickeys is hard to beat.

Normally, I'd say do the blower cams now because it's better now, but I understand. TBH, that's mainly why I don't do a huge amount of mods to my cars. I really just don't have the funds for those kind of projects lol. I really hope I can do cams though, but that down the road 2-4 years. I can understand just wanting to get it running now haha. I can't imagine having a long build like a few of you guys do. Hopefully you can have some fun with it while you're (if you're able) doing an engine build side.

Wife has a honey do list right now for all the stuff she bought. She is helping obviously but a lot of heavy moving... It's almost done. I've also still been fighting a lot of medical stuff, don't want to get into that on an internets car forum but this thing will be done one way or another.

Tax returns FINALLY came in! Told the wife that she spent XYZ money so I'm finishing this damn thing...

-HP292 regrinds are ordered, shipping out my stock Romeo cams to get reground this week.
-Replacement PI intake ordered
-TFS Plenum ordered
-Summit 75mm TB ordered

Cleaning out the garage from the winter pileup tomorrow when its 70 degrees and sunny and getting onto pulling the rest of the accessories and the mid pipe/driveshaft and then have to wait for my parents to get back from vacation for the pops to help me pull the driveline.

Time to **** or get off the pot. For real. If I don't get this done soon its going to sit forever... not ok.

This thread is about to heat up!! Do you have a timeline? I know its tough too with a family and life believe me. That is great though that you got some funds to use to make things "fair", haha. Sounds like a pretty good trade off anyway, everyone gets what they want. Kind of how my wife and I do things, except Im the indecisive one that has a really hard time spending any considerable amount of money. Speaking of which I should be ordering some things at the end of the month, if I can make up my mind that is. Good to see that the progress has started again. I wanted to add that its awesome you work on it with your dad! Lets see some action, now lol.

Timeline is to have the motor prepped this week. Out next. Get all the stuff swapped over and then will be waiting on the cams to come back in to button up the new motor and drop everything else back in. In the meantime while I wait I'm going to attempt a vinyl wrap for the last time on this roof. If not then... plastidip to keep it covered until I get it to an actual paint shop.

Hoping to have it in tuning in May and driving for Memorial Day.

I'm actually really curious to see what it goes for. Although if it has the Vortech its not an originally supercharged car and there is a LOT of stuff on there that didn't come with the car.

When I get mine back on the road it will be pretty close to how it came right from Steeda.

Thats what will make yours more valuable to the right person than this one will. You will still have no more into yours than what their selling this one for too. Or at least close to that amount. I would rather have yours the way it will be mostly all original to how it was made. But the one posted is nice and I would take it for sure.

2000 Steeda Mustang GT #48 build thread

Visual mods are a little much, and the interior.
But I'd definitely take yours over that one.

I dont like the front bumper and a few of the visual mods either. Drive train wise it seems fairly well built though.

In other news... found a COMPLETE 96 Cobra motor from intake to pan locally for $600 obo. I'm guessing I can show up with $500 cash and take it. Cobra intake with TB goes for $250 at least, intake cams for $175 and B heads for $100. Think I am going to try to get it and then part it for a free Teksid and forged crank.

Ok did some mocking up for now because my father is too busy to help pull the motor this week. May have a problem with putting the intercooler on this Novi... Fluidyne intercooler is huge plus it sits further forward than the Vortech. Hmmm... Anything can fit but I don't want to cut the **** out of the car. Could just run it without an intercooler.

Potentially back to the drawing board here. The good news is I have $3-$4k worth of parts I could sell to go in whatever direction I want. Novi, spare motor, parts from motor on there, intercooler, few other things. Blah... this whole thing is turning into a "build" lmao.
