It's going to eventually get a Cobra bumper, but not the Termi.

Hey Scotty. Does your wife know that all of the stuff that was previously in the garage, is now in the living room?

Lmao. I actually was able to fit most of it in a combination of closets, the shed and our storage room. There are only a few things in the front hallway...

Also have been kicking this guy around with a part of next year's tax returns since it is a Steeda car and the more I read about it, the more I'm liking it better than the TA setup... or IRS...

Steeda 1979-04 Mustang 5 Link Rear Suspension System - Made in the USA 555-2501 | Free Shipping!

I'd have to go side exhaust tho which means Roush skirts and the Steeda side exhaust if it'll fit. Or the Spintech kit if not. And rip out the part length subframes it has now and install Spintech subframes.

The first half of that description paragraph is tough to read lol. From my super limited knowledge I would say if Steeda makes it it is probably Damn good.

From what they claim (and what I've read in forums), the 5 piece blurb at the bottom describing the advantages of it over a TA are all correct.

That 5 link certainly looks interesting but, like a good Torque Arm,, it would get me tossed out of the class that I run in. ESP doesn't allow torque arms that mount to the sub frame connectors and that 5 link would be illegal because it changes the geometry of the rear suspension.

They claim their panhard bar is so long that side to side movement of the rear is almost nil.

How well does the kit let you adjust the roll center?

Roll center height adjustable in infinite increments from 8" to 12" above the ground

What they claim on the site anyway. I know I'm putting the cart before the horse and I need to get this thing the hell on the road before I worry about any sort of suspension upgrades, but its nice to plan ahead.

Lights bumper hood and fenders are off... And of course I feel like I am getting sick for some reason. Blah. Radiator is going to be tonight or one night this week and then the entire supercharger and intake. After that... H pipe and then get the motor ready to pull.

Picking up my cherry picker and other engine stand from my dad's garage this week.

2000 Steeda Mustang GT #48 build thread

Scotty, i pulled my motor (with trans) out and only removed the radiator the front of the car stayed in tact, i did have one of those things that allow u to angle the motor with it on the cherrypicker, and there was enough room with the car on the ground and was able to roll the car out of the garage once i got the trans tail housing slightly above the front end, ull be suprised how much the front will raise up with no motor or trans in it lol

I've done it that way before too. However I have an intercooler and piping to install plus the fluidyne radiator this car came with is way thick. That might actually cause issues with the intercooler piping. Time will tell. I'll figure it out.

I have a foldable engine hoist similar to yours, but what brand is the engine stand?
I've never seen a foldable model like that!
And do you know what the weight capacity is on the engine stand, Scotty?

I got it from Summit in like 2006 I think... No marks on it as far as capacity. It is one beefy mofo tho. The stand currently holding the replacement motor is a $50 Harbor Freight special tho lol.

Also, observe the glory that is a load leveler.

That's really what I need. I also have a cheapo HF. It's only rated to 750 lbs, and the 460 engines weigh closer to 1000 lbs fully dressed!
I actually have to put a 2X4 underneath the crankshaft, to support it once I get to installing the heads.

Wow eff that, yeah I barely trust the HF stand with the 2V, can't imagine a 460 jeez... going in a pickup or a racecar?

And here is the stand I have.

I'm building a new engine for my ramp truck. It is low mileage, with a perfect running engine but it just doesn't have enough power! It is reasonably easy to to add 100 hp by bumping up the CR, swapping the cam, and using a set of updated ported heads.
That's the first engine.
I have that exact engine that I just described in my F250, but it has upwards of 400k miles on it! So I'm going to also build another engine for that truck. I'm not sure exactly what I want to do yet. I've been considering swapping the fuel injection to a carburetor, using aluminum heads, and bumping the CR even higher! And more cam!

Anyways, yeah, I'm going to need to get a better engine stand. I'll retire my old one to "Teksid duty" and get started on that next.

Found out from Brett with the AutoX Roush that when he ran 18x9.5s before the wide body his were 18x9.5 with a +20mm and it fit perfectly. Does +28mm not rub the inner suspension? My +24mm 18x10s rubbed the sway bar.

Steeda claims everything clears. Edit... hmmm... 00R rims are 18x9.5 but they have a 20mm offset. Wonder why these have 28...

Also, the pops is on medical leave for a month so I'm going to see if I can lure him over with free beer for a few days of helping me finally get this damn motor out or ready to get out. I'm off all next week too.

I believe his 18x9.5 he used were the stock roush wheels, which would make sense the OE 00R wheels are the same offset, but not the afters.

I should probably just stick with the plan of the 17" FR500s with the Mickeys for $1100-something shipped to my door. If I want real Steeda wheels on the car for a show or something I can get the ones on it restored after the fact. I'll see what this guy says tho. If he gets back to me.

Well I contacted him and its going to be minimum $250 to ship them probably... See if we can work out a deal but I dunno. They look good in the pics with one big blemish that would probably drive me nuts if I bought them. He said he'll send a better pic of the scuff tomorrow.
