I use synthetic valvoline 5w-20, not sure I spelled that right. It runs good.

Personally, i would stick with 5w30. Synthetic is great. 5w20 gets thinner than the 5w30 at operating temperature. some people even use 5w40, but i wouldn't reccomend that unless you really know what your doing.

I use motorcraft 5w30 myself.

Just use the recommended Motorcraft 5W-20 semi-synthetic. I just turned over 190K and the oil has never been really black (it's dark, but not completely black like other vehicles I've changed) and I change the oil and filter every 5K (actually closer to 6K on my last oil change).

They say 5w-20 on the cap and 5w-30 on the hood sticker. So whatever is available to you. I recommend 5w-30 personally. I use 5w-40 in my 5.4L truck mainly because it likes to eat thinner oil.
