Where was fords 2v 4.6 made?

I've been told that our 4.6s were either manufactured or designed in Germany. I'm really curious about this, anyone know what exactly is the history?

They're made in Romeo, Michigan and Windsor, Canada. American cars are usually manufactured in America and some parts in Mexico lol

^this must be what ur thinking....

All 4.6*L 4-valve engines featured aluminum engine blocks with 6-bolt main bearing caps, the only exception being the 2003–2004 SVT Cobra which had a 4-bolt main cast iron block. The 1999 and earlier engines featured an aluminum block cast in Italy by*Fiatsubsidiary*Teksid S.p.A. Since 1996, all of the 4.6*L 4-valve engines manufactured for use in the*SVT Cobra*have been hand-built bySVT*technicians at Ford's*Romeo, Michiganplant.[7]

My first thought went right to the Teksid as well. Teksid is the company that makes blocks for Ferrari and they made all Aluminum 4.6L blocks from 93-98 and Ford finished up using the new old stock in 99 and a few cars in 01.

But no, the 4.6L is an in house design by Ford. And was a spectacular success despite all the the negativity from the performance market which honestly only in the last 5 years or so has really embraced it. I love them honestly, I'm picking up a 38k mile replacement PI motor for my car for $500 in perfect working order. Motors are everywhere, used in EVERYTHING, parts are everywhere and they can make really good power once you put a power adder on them.
