Without boost, none of the pre-Coyote power plants could back up their bark, so it's more of a matter of taste and ultimately giving the car a chance to express it's natural growl and passing all emissions too.
My Cobra has SIX cats that just choke out the power and mutes the natural sound of that particular engine which happens to be a very special motor to me (High Revving 96-98 4V).
Stock headers, hi-flow cats, mid-pipe, mufflers of choice= Quite a bit of bark, little bit of bite in stock form. But, it sounds like sex to me.

Yeah but a bolt on/tuned b headed motor with a set of 4.30s and a driver who can slam gears is going to be able to back up the sound vs a lot of stuff out there. Maybe not on a top speed pull but if we are talking 1/4 mile then yeah.

Just welded on the SLP loudmouth resonators in place of my flowmaster 40's the other day and wow do they sound AMAZING! Thankyou for recommending just buying the resonators. Now I'm stuck on to buy an o/r x or h pipe.

I'm the guy who doesn't care if my car is slow. If it sounds good to me then it's all it matters. Plus I don't race or drag. Just daily drive.
