Cams

Okay guys. My next thing i would like are cams. I know i will need a tune, but I would like cams that will be okay with basically stock motor. Or is that even a good idea.

Do all the "bolt ons" and suspension before you do cams. Figure the cams will be about $1000-$1200 if you have a shop install them. Plus whatever the tune costs you.

Scottys right I'm getting cams installed now.. But I'm also full bolt on.. No sense in putting cams on a stock motor especially without a tune.. Price wise for me cams were 600, new seals and caskets were 150, install was 300 and 400 for a tune so 1000-1500 would go better towards suspension and bolt ons. Headers and exhaust first then do some suspension mods

Like i dont wanna mess with internals. Not looking to spend that money on my car. But i still would like to get some cams that will be okay.

You wouldn't have to do any internal work... I would do headers, exhaust, 3.73 or 4.10 gears, throttle body/plenum, and a tune.. But as far as cams go you won't get any gain unless you have those supporting mods. And with the cams you'll still have to get adjustable cam or crank gears and new valve springs and retainers

Yeah cams were/are the last thing to do typically for most.
